"As the home goes, so
goes the nation"
Sis Joanne brought
this thought out during her lesson and how true these words are. In light
of this, one thing we are endeavoring to focus on is our families –
teaching our children the principles of God and why we believe what
we do. In Deut. 6:4-8, God wanted the Israelites to surround their
children with good teaching. Unfortunately, over time, their
observance became mere rituals and by the time Jesus came on the
scene, the scribes were only copying the law, but didn’t really know
what it was all about.
Our aim, by God’s
help, is to give our children a good foundation so they will go on
and choose to obey Him on their own. We want them to actively
pursue God, just like in a game of hide and seek. Seek God
until you find Him. True love for Him
is shown, not in our emotional response, but by our actions of
obedience. Once we get this type of relationship, it will spill
over onto others and that same love will be shown to them. |
