This morning, we
felt led of the Lord to return to
Washington Court House, Ohio to be
with the saints there. It had been awhile since we had visited
because of conflicting schedules and other pressing duties. Come to
find out during service that the regular pianist for Sunday was gone
that morning and Bro. Terry had been praying for God to send a “ram
in the bushes” and then we walked in. Bro Dale was able to help out
that morning and play for them. It is encouraging when small things
like that happen to let us know we are being led of the Lord. Thank
God that the Lord “keeps the city” and is able to lead and organize
it.
Sis. Jerri Bomgardner brought a very timely message taken from John
16, on Jesus reproving the world of sin. She explained the
difference between sins - the deeds we do, and sin – a state of
being or an attitude of wanting our own way. Jesus came to reprove
world of sin. He wasn’t there to focus on individual sins such as
adultery, pride, or lying. He came to get to the heart of the matter
– SIN. When that attitude of heart is dealt with and our life is
yielded back to Christ the sins will take care of themselves. God
will show a person when their conduct is not pleasing to Him once
they’ve taken care of the inside. It is just like Jesus described.
If you wash inside a cup, the outside will come clean. But just
washing the outside will not necessarily clean the inside (Matt
23:25). Let us focus our efforts on the “heart” of the matter. God
will do the rest.
