Today was Father’s Day and several of those gathered gave tribute to their fathers in testimony. Bro Dale brought a lesson about The Father taken from the parable of the prodigal son. He was a good father, providing for his sons, enduring the pain they inflicted on him, respecting their wishes, forgiving their transgression, and loving them all the time. Earthly fathers, while small in comparison, are a model of God to their children. In a good father, a child finds security, discipline, emotional support, and all his needs supplied. It is certainly a challenge to model The Father to our children. We may be the only example of “God” that they ever see. We are thankful for all the godly fathers who have given us a good heritage in the faith. May God bless them.
