Tonight, the saints held a meeting at a local nursing home and visited with Sis Betty Faye. Sis Betty Faye, who is in her late 40s, has a real testimony! Last October, she was at death’s door, unprepared to meet the Lord. She had collapsed in her home, and since she lived alone, she laid on the floor for an undetermined amount of time.

When help finally arrived, she was rushed to the hospital where she remained at the brink of death and in a coma for weeks. When she finally came out of the coma, her heart was so hardened towards God that she wanted nothing to do with Him or His salvation. But her friend, Sis Melody, and the saints carried a real burden for her and went to prayer on her behalf, begging God to have mercy on her.

After several months, having had plenty of time to think things through, she informed Sis Melody that she had prayed through and had given her heart to the Lord. This brought great joy to us all. While Sis Betty Faye is yet facing great difficulties in her life, and has had the insertion of a Trachea Tube and other serious health problems, she is encouraged in the Lord and keeps a smile on her face. She informed us tonight in writing (she cannot talk due to the Trachea Tube) that she had taken 200 steps yesterday, which is a miracle since she has been mostly bedfast and unable to walk. She wept tears of joy frequently throughout our visit with her tonight.

During the meeting, she requested that we sing the song written by Charles W Naylor titled “He Will Care For Me.”  The words were quite fitting for her present situation.

I walk today in the Christian way,
Tho’ dangers I may see.
I will not fear, for the Lord is near,
And He will care for me.

No test I face, but sufficient grace
is ready for my need;
When sorrows rise to obscure my skies,
He proves a friend indeed.

He will not fail in the strongest gale
That stormy winds can blow;
And in His grace is a hiding place,
Unknown to any foe.

I trust in Him tho’ disasters grim
Before me seem to be;
He calms my fears and He dries my tears,
And faithful is to me.

Chorus

No matter what happens, He will car for me,
He will care for me, He will care for me.
And His mighty hand will enable me to stand,
No matter what happens to me.

Please keep Sis Betty Faye in your prayers. If you are interested in sending her a card or a note of encouragement, please e-mail us and we will send you her mailing address.
