Discipleship Class Report Jan 14, 2007:

Sunday Morning, members of our Gospel Outreach Team worshipped with other Christians in two different assemblies. It is wonderful be free to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and to “go where He wants us to go”.

Sunday evening, Sis. Joanne led a discussion on the power of God.  Drawing from Matthew chapter 10, where Jesus sent out his disciples, she talked about how we need a touch from God in order to do the work of God.  This power is gotten by prayer and faith.  Unbelief can hinder us from receiving from God what we need to do His work.  Sometimes even fasting is necessary to focus our minds on the issue we are praying about.

Christ said if we followed His example, He would teach us how to be “fishers of men”. (Matthew 4:19).  We see that Christ first administered to the people’s physical and mental needs before He tried to preach to them.  He cared about the whole man (body, mind and soul), not just their salvation.    His gospel was a “Soup, Soap, and Salvation” gospel.  His love and concern drew people to Him and made them more ready to hear what He had to say.  Let us all be careful to prove our love to souls by the acts of goodness that we do for them.
