Discipleship Class Report Jan 21 2007:

Sunday Morning, our area was hit with a snow storm. We received about 3 inches of snow overnight. As a result, we were unable to gather with any of the saints for morning worship. In the early afternoon, after the roads were cleared, members of our Gospel Outreach Team met at the assisted living center for service. This outreach effort is conducted every third Sunday of each month. The Coons family are a real encouragement to the people living there.

Sunday evening, Sis. Debbie Rude led a discussion on the saints being the salt of the earth. As a demonstration, she had us taste unsalted green beans. They were nasty! Next, she had us taste normally salted green beans. Ummmm. Finally, she had us taste green beans that were loaded with salt. Yucky!

She used each of these three illustrations to show that we are to make the way attractive by living a holy life before the world. If we are too pushy, we can turn people away from salvation. If we are not sharing the gospel with others, making them thirsty for salvation, we are not are not being the "salt" that God is calling us to be.  Are you adorning the doctrine and making attractive the way? Honoring Christ by your actions and by the words that you say?
