Meeting
Sunday Morning, members of our Gospel Outreach team met at two
separate assembles. Part of the team worshipped with the saints
at the Race Street Church of God in Springfield, Ohio. This
congregation is associated with the Church of God, Guthrie,
Oklahoma. The saints were warmly received and a young brother
from OK preached a wonderful message. Through our outreach
efforts, we have gotten to know the saints at Race Street and we
enjoy fellowshiping with them from time to time.
Other members of our Gospel Outreach team worshipped with the
saints meeting on Crable Road. This is an assembly that is
presently meeting in a home. Bro Dale brought a message on the
Priesthood of all believers. His text was taken from 1 Peter 2:4
-9 where is says "To whom coming, as unto a living stone,
disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, (5)
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an
holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to
God by Jesus Christ. (6) Wherefore also it is contained in the
scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect,
precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
(7) Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto
them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders
disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, (8) And a
stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which
stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were
appointed. (9) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light." He proved that all of
God's people are priests, not just a select few. As holy priests
of God, we offer up sacrifices pleasing to Him, including
ourselves, our obedience, our praise, and our prayers,
among other things.
Sunday evening, we met with the saints on Crable Road where God
poured His Spirit on our assembly in a very special way. There
was much praise offered up with testimonies of thanksgiving. It
was a time of great refreshing. During the singing, God's
presence was so real that we found ourselves standing to our
feet on several occasions. The saints hugged each other in a
time of sweet fellowship and love.
Bro Joe brought a lesson taken from a devotional written by
Charles W. Naylor's book, Heart Talks. He gave four practical
tips on resisting the devil and obtaining constant victory such
that we can be more than conquerors. It was an encouragement to
all.
It
was a very inspiring day, and we are thankful for all that God
is doing. We believe that God has great things in store for His
people.
