This evening we were blessed to
meet with the saints again in a home setting. The crowd is
growing to the point that they can no longer gather in just one
room in the house, so we have to sit in two separate rooms. It
is not the best way to meet, but until God works out other
arrangements, we are making the most of it.
The saints sang songs of praise
and afterwards agreed in prayer for urgent requests and needs.
Bro Dale brought a short lesson on the dangers of
putting confidence in the flesh. He pointed out that true faith
should not be affected by feelings and emotions. However, the
flesh is directly connected to fleshly feelings and responses.
Our faith can remain steady even when our feelings rise and
fall. Because the human desires will always led towards sin, it
is paramount that we not allow our desires to influence our
decision making process, but rather seek after the Spirit's
leading and take action accordingly. We can always be confident
that when God directs, we will always come out victorious.
Afterwards, we had a time of
fellowship in honor of Bro Boyd's 85th birthday. He was unable
to attend the service due to sickness, but we called him and
sang to him over the speaker phone. May God grant this faithful
warrior with many more years of useful service in the kingdom of
God.
