This
evening, we met with the saints in home service. Our little
gathering is growing in number, but most importantly, we are
growing deeper in the things of God. Our roots are deepening as
we are getting plenty of refreshing water from the pure river of
life.
In fact, we
were presented with a lesson on this very subject. Contrasting
Psalms Chapter 1 and Psalms 137-1-4, we studied the two rivers
and the effects on the inhabitants surrounding them. Those
persons sitting by the rivers of Babylon were sorrowful and in
continual mourning when they remembered their earlier joyful
days in Zion. They were captives in a strange land. Those
persons rooted by the river of life are bearing fruit, not just
for their own benefit, but for the benefit of others.
