Bro Shane read a poem that his younger brother Aaron had written when he was a young child about the Light. Aaron has since gone to be with the Lord, but the beautiful day was a reminder that God is Light and in Him is no darkness. This was a fitting reading for the anniversary of Aarons passing. The saints were very free in the Spirit this morning and several of them shared publicly, giving praise to Our Savior for all of His goodness. The thought of the lesson was of "One Another". It was pointed out that each member is needed and that we should ever be looking out for one another, particularly to edify each other. Our assemblies should not be so programmed and so structured that we do not allow for members of the body to edify each other by the operation of the gifts of the Spirit. Meetings of the New Testament church were much different than those of the institutionalized church of our day. They were open and each member was able to share with the body and operate within the gifting of all it's members. We are quite aware that we need each other! Praise God that we are beginning to see how that we can be more pleasing to Our Father in our gatherings. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty! An outline of the lesson is available by clicking here. |
