Evening
Sunday evening, the
saints gathered in at the Courtyard Marriott conference room for our
second service at this location. We were thankful to have over 50 in
attendance, including Barbie, Bridget, the Hightower family and the
Lavelle family from Indiana.
Bro Dillow brought a
two part message. The first half was focused on taking time for each
other. He pointed out that as a family, we need to help each other in
whatever way we can. The second part was centered on taking time to
live. He brought out some practical points on the need to really take
time to listen to each other. Being a good listener is a skill that we
need to develop early in our Christian life as there are many hurting
people who need to share their hurts with someone. Listening is a
ministry that is very much in demand these days. He also expounded on
the need to be slow to speak and to weigh out our words before voicing
our thoughts. Finally, he talked about the need to laugh. The scriptures
teach us that a “merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” (Pro 17:22)
God’s people are a happy people.
Our desire is to be
a light to this dark world. We really appreciated the thoughts that Bro
Dillow brought out. As has become our practice, the saints were
participants during the entire meeting, including the time of the
sharing of God’s Word.
