Mar 25, 2007 Sunday Morning

This morning we met again at the Marriott Inn. We were glad that Sis Marvis Laywell was able to be in attendance. We were also glad that Sis Becky Laywell was with us again.

The message was titled "In Times Like These" and was taken from 2 Tim 3:1-7. It was pointed out that in these perilous times, we can share our faith with others, we can bring hope to others, and we can share love with others. As saints, we should:

  • Count your blessings
  • Continue to live the Christian life
  • Be more than overcomers
We looked at each stanza of a song written by Mother Ruth Jones, which she received the inspiration for while listening to these same passages being read. The words are as follows:

In times like these, we need a Savior
In times like these, we need an anchor
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds, and grips the Solid Rock

This rock is Jesus, yes He’s the One
This rock is Jesus, the only One
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds, and grips the Solid Rock

In times like these you need the Bible,

In times like these O be not idle;
Be very sure, be very sure

Your anchor holds and grips the Solid rock!

In times like these I have a Savior,
In times like these I have an anchor
I'm very sure, I’m very sure

My anchor holds and grips the Solid rock!

What a consolation to know that in times like these, we have a Savior who loves and cares for each of us. An outline is available by clicking here.
