Meeting Report
Nov 26,
2006:
What is Truth? These
famous words were said by Pilate many years ago, yet still they ring in
our ears today. Many people are like Pilate when they come in contact
with Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life. They recognize that He
is an innocent and faultless man, a man that was sent by the Father as
an expression of His divine love for us, yet while He is only loving and
good to all, many will only offer up lip service to Him. All are able to
exercise their individual free will and can therefore accept or reject
the Savior, yet many yield to peer pressure, fear and human influences
and continue to live a life of sin and rebellion against the very one
who died to save them from their sin.
Sis Joanne also
pointed out how that real truth always unites God’s people into one
while man’s ways divide and separate God’s people. While some religious
bodies claim to have a grasp or even a monopoly on what they call
“truth”, it has consistently divided people up into warring factions.
Jesus, while standing before Pilate, spoke not a word in His own defense,
but remained true to His character. He was and is a man of true
integrity. “Standing truth” will divide the good from the bad, the
sinner from the holy, but it will bring together all of God’s family
into one.
Oh, what will you do
with Jesus? Who knocks for you today?
Will you open and bid Him enter, Or turn from Him away?
I will open my
heart’s door gladly, And crown Him there today;
I will trust in His blood most precious, To wash my sins away.
