These exact words were asked recently by a little girl who attended
one of our outreach meetings for the first time. The book she
referred to was not the Bible, but rather one of our song books. You
see, this little girl had never experienced or felt the Spirit of
God before. As the saints were singing in the spirit, this little girl
could sense God moving in a powerful way and thought that He was
coming from the book she was holding.
This little girl is a neighbor of one of the saints. She comes from
a very dysfunctional family and is surrounded by trouble all the
time. Drugs, illicit sex, profanity and alcohol are just a few of
the things she is exposed to day in and day out. She and her
siblings have had no instruction in the things of God. Only God
knows the extent in which this little girl has been exposed to sinful
vices.
Rather than send her away and consider her a nuisance and pest, one
of the saints has taken a burden for her and is working with her and
her siblings. It started out by simply playing board games with them
on the front porch. It has progressed to teaching them about God and
His plan of salvation.... and they are responding!
This saint has gained the confidence of her father and he allowed
her to come to an outreach meeting.
This, my friend, is real ministry.
