Thursday Evening Praise God for His blessings upon the Gospel Outreach
meeting so far. This service, among the 31 people in
attendance, we were privileged to have saints for the
first time from the Race Street Church of God. We have
come to know these saints recently and were blessed to
have them share in this service. We look forward to
fellowshipping with them from time to time in the coming
months and years. We are also thankful for others in
attendance from various congregations and places as
well. Bro Dale Rude's uncle (Everett) and his daughter
(Jenny) were there. This was her first time coming to
the Gospel Outreach meeting and we are glad to have her
come. Everett has been in attendance at nearly every
meeting that has been held in South Charleston. His
presence and input have added to the meetings. In typical fashion, Bro Joe Coons
brought a lively message about the heart of man. He
pointed out that our heart is the most vital spiritual organ
we have. From it, we influence the world around us.
All that we are and will become is patterned after the
treasures of our heart. We follow after the desires
created there. We seek after its yearnings. If our
heart is darkened and unconverted, we are of all men,
most miserable. Should we be honest and repent of our
sins, from our heart, the Lord will create within us a
new heart, a heart desiring the things of God. Then,
instead of us sitting on the throne of our affection, we
allow the Lord to reign in our life. The condition of
heart we posses, dictates the type of spirit we
portray. An unconverted, selfish heart promotes
a disobedient spirit. A converted, selfless
heart promotes an obedient spirit. It is our choice.
Let’s be honest and consider our condition.
