| Report: Sept 17, 2006 Evening....
Bro Joe Coons brought a wonderful, clear message
about overcoming temptation. His text was taken from
1Corinthians 10:13. There hath no temptation taken you
but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who
will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are
able; but will with the temptation also make a way to
escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
He gave very practical suggestions for overcoming
temptation, including how to avoid temptation and how to
deal with it when it happens. He used many people in the
Bible who are good examples for us, and how they
overcame difficult times in their lives. During the
message, there was much input from those in attendance.
There were 26 in attendance and we were thankful to
have Janet back with us. She has been very sick lately
and it was a blessing to have her, her son Paul and
Everett in service. We were also thankful to have Diane
in service. She was brought by Bro Francis and Sis
Stella Conner. There were praise reports that were given
and encouraging songs of Zion were sung.
We ended the meeting with the song "I'm on the
winning side with Jesus!". Thank God that we can be
constant overcomers with Jesus by our side, fighting our
battles for us! Today was a blessed and victorious day! |
