Sunday Evening, April 1, 2010,
This
evening, we met on the back patio of an old colonial farm
house just outside of Yellow Springs, Ohio. It was a beautiful
meeting, with both young and old spontaneously sharing with each
other in song and testimony. The weather was prefect for such an
outdoor meeting.
There were over 40 who
gathered for our evening meeting. We were glad to have 3 first time
visitors with us. One brother is a church planter from the local
area. He is an overseer of a network of house churches. He gave his
testimony this evening and we were blessed to have him participate
in the meeting. We look forward to fellowshipping with him and those
of like precious faith.
One of the other men
expressed an interest in coming back to our meetings. He is in need
of salvation and said that he liked the openness of the meeting and
that he wanted to get his life together. We pray that he will be led
to the cleansing fountain.
Bro Joe brought some
thoughts from the book of Job. He pointed out that even after Job
lost nearly everything, he still did not sin against God or charge
Him foolishly. It is our desire to face trials and tests such that
when they are ended, we bring glory to God though our lives and
actions.
After the gathering, we
shared in food and fellowship. It was a spiritually rich environment
to be in.
