Sunday Evening, December
20, 2009,
This evening, we
practiced several songs for our Christmas program this Wednesday at
Forrest Glen Retirement Center. Many of the Christmas songs are
filled with beautiful words and expressions of devotedness to Christ
and His wonderful gift of salvation. A comment was made that you can
sense the inspiration of the songwriters.
After the singing, we
discussed the need for greater humility in our world today. We
looked at the difference in the attitude of King Saul and King
Jesus. Saul, who began his reign in humility, became lifted up in
himself. Contrarily, Jesus was the King of all Kings, yet He
remained a meek and lowly servant to mankind. Even the manner of his
birth was lowly.
May we all strive for
more humility in our lives.
