Sunday Evening, Feb 17, 2008, This evening, we had our second youth rally. There were nearly fifty in attendance and over twenty youth, including some first time visitors. The young people sang special songs and participated throughout the meeting in various ways. Sam Coons led us in signing the song "I'll Fly Away" in a tribute to a dear brother who passed away yesterday morning. Sis Becky Laywell brought an very instructive message that was focused on youth and issues that they face in our world today. She used 1 Timothy 4:12-13 as her text. "Let no man despise thy youth: but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity, Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine." She challenged the youth to be good examples of what it means to be a Christian and pointed out that the youth play a very important role in the life of the church. Afterwards, we gathered for food and fellowship. We hope to have these youth meetings about every month or so.
