Sunday Evening, Jan 20, 2008, Youth Meeting:

This evening, we had our first, of what we hope will be many more youth outreach meetings. What a good group of youth we had this evening! There were 30 youth in attendance, some for the first time. In all, there were over 50 people gathered for the meeting. Our youth reached out to the visiting youth and made them feel special, because they are special. No one felt like a stranger and the interaction among them all was a blessing to witness.

We are very proud of our youth. They have a heart for God.

Sis Debbie brought a lesson about being and staying connected to God. She asked for 10 volunteers at the beginning of the meeting. She handcuffed them together and they had to remain that way for about 45 minutes. Her lesson focused on having a personal relationship with God. Going where He leads, doing what He does, and staying connected to Him.

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together except they be agreed?

The youth brought scriptures, sang special songs, prayed, read stories with moral lessons, but most importantly, they reached out to others. The youth among us are not the future church, they are part of the church today.

Already, we are making plans for the next youth outreach meeting.
