This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come, for men shall be ...
Unthankful
2 Tim 3:1-2

Sunday Evening, Jan 27, 2008,

This evening, some of the saints met for home meeting. We read from 2 Tim 3:1-5. These are all conditions that the scriptures point out would exist in these last days. Behind every condition listed in these scriptures is a spirit. For instance, some have been overcome by a spirit of pride. Others by a spirit of disobedience, and so forth. What an ugly list we have here! May God help us to guard ourselves against all the horrible conditions on this list!

One of the things listed is unthankfulness. This spirit is one condition that is seldom discussed, yet it is a very powerful spirit.

God's people are a thankful people. Thankful people are happy people. They are a contented people. We can always find
something to be thankful for. In fact, one of the characteristics of a true Christian is that they can readily acknowledge good,  wherever it may be found. And for that good, they are thankful.

Not only should we be thankful, we should express that thankfulness, to God and to one another. We were challenged in the meeting to look for ways to express our thankfulness. A note. A card. A phone call. A meal. A gift. Whatever it may be, we should make a conscious decision to be more thankful and express that thankfulness to others. This will help us keep the victory over the spirit of unthankfulness.
