“I’ve Been Framed”
Psalm
103:14 “He knows our frame, He remembers we are dust.’ The
Bible says in Genesis 2:7 God made man of the dust of the ground
and breathed into him the breath of life. The Lord made man a
three fold being; body, soul and spirit. The soul is the eternal
part of us that seeks after eternal things. Our spirit is,
somewhat, our attitude toward eternal things and our body is the
part of you and I we continually labor to “keep under”. 1
Corinthians 9:27
We are
literally ‘dust’. We consist of 65% Oxygen, 18.5% Carbon, 9.5%
Hydrogen, 3.2% Nitrogen and some salts. All these together, make
what our senses tell us is, human. Working together, these elements
of the earth have, ‘God given’, desires that as Christians, we
fulfill in a godly manner; with a lot of help from the grace of God.
These
bits of dust are temporary. They will not last forever. 2 Peter
3:9-14 says one day all the elements will be burned up ‘and boy!’,
we better be careful of the choices we make in this temporary
place. If we choose to appeal to the dust / flesh, remember, back
to the dust we go. If we honor the eternal side of us, we never
lose. Choose Christ and keep Him in your heart. He was human, but
never saw corruption, we probably will.
Song…
I’m only
an earthen vessel
But Jesus has pleasure in me
While I gladly submit to His purpose
A vessel to honor I’ll be
Another
song says…
What are
little boys made of
What are little boys made of
Frogs and snails and puppy dog tails
That’s what little boys are made of…
What are
little girls made of
What are little girls made of
Sugar and spice and everything nice
That’s what little girls are made of |
