Sunday Evening, July 4, 2010,
In the afternoon, we
had a meeting at the Forrest Glenn retirement center. This evening
in our gathering, we were blessed with some beautiful and
inspirational singing. It was a spiritually rich environment to be
in.
Bro Joe led a
discussion about embedded Christians going out into the highways and
hedges and compelling people to come into God's banqueting table,
His kingdom. We are so thankful that in the past four years, we have
become Kingdom Builders!
God is not looking to
draw in religious people, but in Luke 14:15-23, He lets us know that
he is looking for the lame, sick, blind, etc... the gathering
of the outcasts!
There are many
highways from which we must compel people from. The highways of
career, retirement, wealth, reputation, sports, entertainment,
etc... Also, the hedges create barriers that we must overcome if we
are to reach people's hearts, but they must be penetrated.
Thankfully, the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church
of the living God!
In the midst all the
different ways and religious confusion, Isaiah 35:8-10 says
that there is a way of holiness and there is the WAY, Jesus Christ!
After the meeting, we
celebrated Steven's birthday at the Hightower's house. We had a
great time of fellowship.
Finally, we were
blessed to have the Laywell family with us in our gathering.
