Sunday Morning, Apr 06, 2008, In the beginning, was the church…. And the church was without formality, .... And God said, Let the church be the light: and she was the light. And God saw the light of the church, that it was good: and God divided the saints from the sinners.. This morning, we discussed the church, notably:
1. What the church is - All
saved people We spent some time discussing characteristics of the early church (that we read about in the New Testament) and how she was a unified body of believers working together for a common cause, under the divine direction of the Holy Spirit. Each member had a unique place in the body and Christ was the head, working through each member according to His divine will and purpose. If we are to ever have a real impact on our world today, we must get back to the beginning. As John wrote after returning from the Isle of Patmos and having had a personal revelation from the Lord, let us seek to go back to "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life."
