Sunday Morning, April 1, 2010,
The
church met in a house for our morning gathering. We had an
absolutely beautiful meeting and the sweet Spirit of God visited us
in a powerful way, touching and ministering to each person who was
present. The saints shared openly with each other. Even the visitors
shared what was on their heart. One sister was experiencing a
migraine that was worsening and she asked for prayer. The saints
gathered around her and prayed and moments later, she testified that
she experienced significant relief. By the end of the meeting, she
was feeling so much better. Several asked for prayer for personal
situations that they are dealing with and the saints assured them
that we will be praying for them because we have been there
ourselves. It is so wonderful to be able to honestly share our
burdens with people who understand and who are not judgmental.
Truly, “love covereth all sins.”
Unlike
meetings in the Institutional church, our meetings have indeed
become more like support group meetings, where each person seeks to
edify the other. We described ourselves today as a family, and
“family sticks by family.”
In honor
of Anna Coons, we sang “Pass it on” (words below). There were many
tears and we spent much time afterward discussing the words to this
powerful song. One of the visitors commented that they have sung
this song for many years, but since we sang this song at the
funeral, the words have now come alive and have become so real
through Anna’s life. It can truly be said that Anna’s life and even
her death have touched so many people. Thousands of people. Her life
has brought to life that phrase “I want my world to know; the Lord
of love has come to me, I want to pass it on.”
Bro
Dillow read Psalm 95 – “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us
make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before
his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him
with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all
gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of
the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands
formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us
kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the
people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.”
We ended
the meeting by singing that beautiful old hymn “Softly and Tenderly,
Jesus is Calling.” We are so thankful to have a clear vision of who
Jesus really is and how He loves us.
Pass It
On
It only
takes a spark to get a fire going.
And soon all those around, can warm up in glowing.
That's how it is with God's love,
Once you've experienced it, you spread His love to everyone;
You want to pass it on.
What a
wondrous time is spring, when all the trees are budding;
The birds begin to sing, the flowers start their blooming.
That's how it is with God's love;
Once you've experienced it, you want to sing
"It's fresh like spring"; you want to pass it on.
I wish
for you my friend, this happiness that I've found.
You can depend on Him, it matters not where you're bound.
I'll shout it from the mountain top
I want my world to know; the Lord of love has come to me,
I want to pass it on.
Repeat:
I'll shout it from the mountain top
I want my world to know; the Lord of love has come to me,
I want to pass it on.
