Sunday Morning, April 4, 2010,
This morning, we had
several first time visitors with us on this Resurrection Sunday. We had
about 45 people in attendance. Some of
Anna Coons' extended family came to the gathering for the first time
and made the comment afterwards that this was the way it is supposed to
be. People loving people and being like family.
We sang several songs,
including the old spiritual "Were you there when they crucified my
Lord". Bro Lee led us in that song. Afterwards, he made the statement
that he was there, because when Jesus was on the cross, "I was on His
mind". Bro Joe and Sam sang that beautiful song "He walked every mile
just for me".
After the singing, Bro Dale
read an
obituary of Christ and then led a discussion about the need for a
personal resurrection. He discussed the nature of sin and the need for
salvation. You can read the full outline by

It was a beautiful gathering
and we all left encouraged. This has been a difficult past two weeks,
but the Lord has helped us with grace and strength in a very special
way. The scripture says, "By this shall all men know that ye are my
disciples, if ye have love one to another." Truly, the world has
witnessed the love that we have one for another. Although we are not
blood relatives, through Christ' blood, we have been made one body, and
our love for each other is such that "no power on earth or hell withal
can rend us from each other."
Thank you Jesus for dying
for our sins!
The tomb
is empty, but the void in God’s heart for you can never be filled
unless you fill it.
