Sunday, August 23, 2009, Youth Day!

"For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end" - Heb 6:10-11

Today, we celebrated Youth Day! What is Youth Day, one might ask? Well, we have Father's Day in June. Mother's Day in May. So we decided to have Youth Day in August!

We appreciate the youth very much! They bring life to our meetings by their presence and by their participation. They are a testimony to our community of what a Christian really is. So, today we honored them, all 21 of them, with a meeting dedicated to them. Each young person was presented a personalized certificate and was given a token of the saint's appreciation.

Bro and Sis Dillow brought some thoughts which were very encouraging. They expressed their feelings and observations for the youth. Others also offered up expressions of love and appreciation as well.

We also expressed our love and appreciation for the Laywell family, Bro David, Sis Becky, Courtney, Caleb and Emily. They will be moving out of State in a few weeks. The saints expressed their fond memories and let them know that they will be in our continued prayers as they settle in their new location. We will certainly miss them but we bid them God speed!

After the meeting, we had a potluck dinner. The weather was a bit chilly (where is global warming when you need it?), but it was nice considering that August is usually the hottest month of the year! The rest of the afternoon was spent playing yard games and going fishing. Caleb was the only one who caught any fish! It was a beautiful day!
