Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good
This morning, Sis
Joanne brought an interactive lesson about having a diet that
will make a difference. After all, as the old saying goes "you
are what you eat."
She brought to the
meeting a suitcase full of "stuff". Candies, chips, pop, peanut
butter, as well as a few, um, "expired" items (yuck)! She used
these to show that in the natural, we must be careful what we
eat because everything will have an affect on us and our health.
After this part of
the lesson, she focused on the spiritual. Unless we are feasting
on the Word and mediating in the good things of God, we will not
grow properly. Jesus said "I am the living bread which came
down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live
for ever" - John 6:51
We
are thankful that we have a loving Savor that bids us to "Come
and Dine".
Jesus has a
table spread
Where the saints of God are fed,
He invites His chosen people, “Come and dine”;
With His manna He doth feed
And supplies our every need:
O ’tis sweet to sup with Jesus all the time!
Refrain
“Come and
dine,” the Master calleth, “Come and dine”;
You may feast at Jesus’ table all the time;
He Who fed the multitude, turned the water into wine,
To the hungry calleth now, “Come and dine.”who extends the
invitation to "Come and dine".
