Sunday Morning, July 11, 2010,
We had a great
gathering this morning with lots of people in attendance. Sis Joanne
led a discussion about God being with us in times that we may feel
He has forsaken us.
She reminded us, that while it is not always easy to understand, He
is always working things out for our good.
Sometimes, when we
may be in severe trials, we might think like Job did in his trial,
which is recorded in Job 23:8-10:
"Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but
I cannot perceive him: On the left hand, where he doth work, but
I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I
cannot see him: But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath
tried me, I shall come forth as gold."
We
also discussed that the word "comfort" does not always mean that we
will be assisted emotionally, but the Greek meaning of the word
sometimes means to make able to stand and go forward; to move on
with life.
Through Christ, we are strengthened and made strong. Because God
came in the form of a man, He can better relate to our weaknesses.
