Sunday Morning, July 18, 2010,
This morning, we had
two visitors in the meeting with us. One of the men was someone who
had recently lost his father. The other visitor was the younger
brother of a man who we have been working with for some period of
time. The Spirit of God worked in a different way this morning.
As a
gathering, we have been through some pretty tough times this year.
In January, both Bro Joe and Bro Lee
lost their mothers within hours of each other. In March, Anna Coons
passed away as a result of a horse accident. In May, Bro Conner died
very unexpectedly. There have been some of the saints who have had
physical afflictions and other trying situations.
As there were several
individuals present who needed comfort and reassurance, the meeting
focused on meeting their needs. The singing was very inspirational
and the thoughts that were shared by the saints seemed to be just
what was needed.
The flow of the meeting
was one of complete surrender to the moving of the Holy Spirit and
allowing Him to govern our assembly according to the needs that were
present. As a result, no one left without getting the help and
edification that was needed.
We are thankful that we
have no program that we follow in our meetings and that we are
sensitive to hearing what the Spirit is saying to the church.
Despite all the hard
times, God 's still blessing and taking us onward and upward! We are
thankful for every person who has recently gotten saved and for
those who have made spiritual progress in their lives. |
