Bro
Joe spoke on the ways that God has overridden the laws of nature in
order to perform His will.
The
Lord created everything in the beginning of time we can and cannot
see. All He created was mature and functioned properly from day
one, two or whatever day it was made. Colossians 1:16,17 says: ‘For
by Him were all things created that are in Heaven and in earth,
visible and invisible, whether they are thrones, dominions,
principalities or powers; all things were created by Him and for
Him. And He is before all things and by Him all things consist.’
The principles and powers referred to here may refer to the natural
laws and forces Christ put into order such as gravity; Newton’s 1st,
2nd, and 3rd laws of motion dealing with inertia, forces and the
balancing of these and the laws of thermodynamics describing
characteristics of energy and heat. All these and many more natural
laws function properly on earth and throughout the universe.
Consequently, sometimes the Lord, God, stops His creation from
doing its natural, God given function, to fulfill other, even
personal, needs. Daniel 4:34 states: ‘And all the inhabitants of
the earth are reputed as nothing and He (the Lord) does according to
His will in the army of Heaven and among the inhabitants of the
earth and none can stop His hand or say to Him; ‘What are you
doing?’ Also, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 quotes; ‘In everything give
thanks, for this is the will of God concerning you.’
Through the Lord’s intervention, on behalf of His thankful
ones, Christ may interrupt the natural way of things to give favor
to someone, even altering nature. Some examples of this in
scripture include:
-
Christ speaking peace to the stormy winds and waves in Mark 4:35-41,
- Walking on the water in Matthew 14:24-32,
- Shutting the lion’s mouths in Daniel 6,
- A talking mule in Numbers 22:22-34,
-Splitting the Red Sea in Exodus 14:20-28,
and
numerous healings in the Old and New Testaments such as Acts 3:2-7
and Matthew 8:2-3. Reading these may inspire personal examples in
your own life.
Sometimes, the Lord stops His creation from doing its natural
function to intervene for us, if we are thankful to Him.
