Mother's Day 2010!

This morning, we recognized and honored the role being a mother. The meeting began by singing very uplifting songs. After the singing, Sis Joanne brought a lesson about "Being a Great Mother". She used several examples of famous people and the influence that their mother's had on them. She also talked about the woman with the sick daughter who came to Jesus and asked for healing. After four rejections, she persisted and Jesus healed her daughter. A mother's love will never fail and she will sacrifice until she gets an answer.

After the lesson, the saints shared thoughts and memories about their mothers, grandmothers and even their mother-in-laws. Bro Alan, who lost his mother this year, dismissed the meeting by singing a song about mothers. This was the last song he was able to sing to her before her passing. It was a beautiful song with rich words behind it.

Tears, laughter, sharing and caring. These are all normal parts of our meetings. I'm so glad I'm a part of the family of God, ... and we have a good spiritual mother as well!
