Today, the saints met
together at the Marriott. While some were gone to attend a
youth camp, the
remainder had a busy day.
At the morning
gathering,
Bro Dillow brought a
lesson on Perseverance in Christian Work. As usual, a good
discussion followed. Drawing from the life of Apostle Paul, he
shared how working for God will bring persecution and we must not
let it deter us. Nowadays, alot of that persecution will come
through gossip from once close friends. Gossip is just void words
that are not profitable. It can even be “true”. But when we share
negative information about a person to someone else without there
being a “need to know” on the part of the receiver, we are
gossiping.
Paul reached the
point of distress in his ministry, caused by all men forsaking him.
Christianity does not exempt us from problems, but God gives grace
for us to overcome. Let us add to that grace by cheering one another
on in our walk with God. Take heart my friend, “in this world you
shall have tribulation, but fear not for I (Christ) have overcome the
world”
It is evident
that the saints are making real progress as we continue to free
ourselves from the influences of the Institutional church and become more organic.
After the morning
gathering, the saints assembled at the Forrest Glen Health care
Center and held a meeting there. It was quite a blessing to see both
young and old worshipping together and enjoying the company of each
other. |
