Wednesday Evening, September 23, 2009,
Wednesday evenings are
pretty unpredictable with us. We hardly ever do the same thing twice
in a row! Sometimes we gather in homes, other times in parks.
Sometimes we make sick calls or hospital visits. Sometimes we don't
assemble at all but will rather do things separately or in smaller
groups. Sometimes we go for family walks, or have family devotions.
Whatever the Lord impresses upon us, that is what we try to do.
Tonight, we all felt
the need to visit with Rita Coons, Bro Joe's mother. We had a very
strong turnout. Rita is presently staying at the Wright Rehab
facility in Fairborn, Ohio. From the time that she came into the
room where we were gathered unto the time that we departed, she had
a smile on her face. Rita sometimes struggles with keeping her
thoughts straight and occasionally she forgets things, but tonight
she sang the old hymns with no problem at all. Joe's dad was there
too and really enjoyed being with the saints.
It is a joy to be
able to be a blessing to someone else.
